The Flat At Journeyman Distillery
At its best, travel lodging provides an opportunity to live differently than you do at home. Location, design, and architecture transport us from our every day into something new with zero risk or pressure to commit. Like travel in general, where we stay is just another way to discover what moves us.
That being said, the rest of this feature is for anyone who’s fantasized about living in a loft. Not a condo designed to look like a loft. Not a home with industrial finishes. A for-real factory building turned spacious and inspiring home.
The Flat at Journeyman Distillery began in the late 19th century as The E.K. Warren Featherbone Factory, manufacturing buggy whips and corset stays. Fast forward a couple hundred years and you have a carefully renovated living space, true to its origin in finishes, but decidedly modern and comfortable in design.
At 7,000 square feet, The Flat has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths among its three floors. With multiple areas to lounge – including an outdoor courtyard with wood-burning firepit – this is a place to gather friends and reconnect over meals, drinks, and, did we mention the pool table?
Located in the heart of Three Oaks, The Flat is steps to area shops, cafés, theaters, and its namesake, Journeyman Distillery.
Local Tip: Three Oaks boasts some exceptional private event spaces. Journeyman’s Warren Hall, Froehlich’s 19 North, and Three Oaks Social Club are among sought-out venues in the region. Given its size and location, The Flat is an ideal overnight option for wedding parties.
